Ferny Grove State High School – Canteen and Uniform Shop
Ferny Grove State High School engaged Honeywill Consulting to project manage the redevelopment of its school canteen and uniform shop.
The project brief was to provide a fully compliant and functional facility, with a new kitchen and equipment, a functional servery area with a walk in cold room, and a replacement uniform shop. All had to meet current building code requirements.
The initial design, which was provided with the brief, required a complete redesign to meet the budget and function demands of the projects.
Honeywill Consulting worked with the school, its P&C and the regional office to develop a scope of works suitable for design and construction delivery.
Completion was scheduled for the December school holidays.
Specific challenges included aligning the scope of works with the project budget and delivering the project to the satisfaction of all key stakeholders. Careful coordination of specialist equipment and contractors was also required to avoid major disruptions to school activities.
The project was delivered on budget and to a high standard.
