Everton Park SHS – Covered Outdoor Learning
Everton Park State High School was selected as part of the School Infrastructure Enhancement (SIE) program to receive a new outdoor learning area in a part of the school that used to be occupied by an old classroom building.
Honeywill Consulting worked with the design team and the school to develop a design solution that would create and inviting and useable outdoor learning experience of the students, while modernising and future-proofing school facilities.
Key features of the project included new covered seating area, created with curved sandstone blocks, handball courts, covered seating areas and landscaping. The project was delivered using a design and construction procurement to mitigate risks of latent conditions found in the ground during construction.
Works were completed before the required deadline for the project and the project was delivered within budget and to a high standard.
